Being the first design with the Hordes! bonus, this is a great board. Still plays well and is an excellent introduction to the strategy needed to play on a Hordes! style map. Looks good, plays well!
Maybe i'm missing something, but this board seemed really rough. unit max, path movement/layout, and fog all left me wondering what was going on. felt clunky and drug out too long. Cool theme though.
Okay so this board is a ton of luck. Figure out the best manner to play and then hope things go your way (until the end game, which has a little more strategy). But hey, it looks freakin' awesome and is just a cool dueling board.
not too bad actually. from the look of it, i thought it would be just a slug fest determined by luck. Still seems to involve quite a bit of luck. But it looks okay and plays okay. Not enough thinking involved for me though.
Board looks okay and plays alright. It is just ridiculously simple and kind of boring to me. The dominance of cards makes it difficult to win solely off of good strategy. Plus only a limited strategy is needed i the game since the bonus structure and boarders are quite limited. Can still be a fun game though, by game was quite enjoyable (Yes, I won).
A large, expand-and-conquer map. With the fog, there is not really a need to be cautious about the rate of your expansion, just swell as much as possible. The bonus structure is simple and original, and the special territories add some strategy. This is a simple board, good for large numbers of players and team games.
good concept with interesting gameplay, but it seems a little hard to get your own area on the first turn, if you don't you'll pretty much be killed by whoever did. But if everyone get's a starting area it makes for an interesting game. :)
I would give this board 5.5 stars if i could. It's fun, looks good, nice idea. I enjoy it pretty well, but it feels kinda clunky to me. It's quite difficult to move from sea to land, so most people just try not too. This creates a problem for countries that are split up vs. those that are not (ex: Australia and SA which are both worth 2).
better rating from me, however, the game that i'm presently in showed me the disadvantage of the second player. My first turn, my dog had been taken... made it pretty difficult, but i'm still fighting! i like the board still!
Funny to look at the extreme variance on ratings. i fall on the low end. Only played it once, and i will probably play it again just to try and earn some points. But the graphics aren't good and the gameplay is too simple and quick. Even though i don't hate it, being one of the worst boards on WG, i have to give it a 1.
This is a good one. Complex for sure, but a solid dueling board. Graphics look nice, gameplay give many options. Seems to be more difficult to win as the bad guys though.
As far as the theme goes, i love it. I probably need to play more in order to more accurately rate, but for now i'll say it's a fair board. I like duels, and i like Seuss, but this board seems a little too limited and streamlined.
This is a good board. Simple and unique and strategic. Graphic design is fine. It certainly is effective for revealing height and connection. Try this one out!
Okay, this board is simply brilliant. I love the strategy, the theme, the graphics, and pretty much everything else. I wish there was more need to utilize the various types of defenses, but hey, for a tower-defense risk board, this is incredible.
Only played one game here, so may not be the norm. But our game was excruciatingly long. It lasted several months at least. Besides that the board looks really good, and i'm sure it would be fun if there wasn't a stale.
The layout of this board is really interesting. Makes it difficult to hold continents. the concept is good, and the board plays well enough, but the disjointed sides and cumbersome continent bonuses are not my style. Give it a try though!
The way that this board is laid out and plays is fine. Just an average country board. The flag in the background looks really bad no me though, not a fan of that at all
Not my favorite board, but very large and originally designed. I really appreciate the variety of scenarios, it's great. Board looks good and plays well too.
